More than 50 Lake Superior College students will be recognized for earning fall 2012 and spring 2013 scholarships at the 2nd annual Lake Superior College Foundation recognition dinner on Thursday, April 11, at Greysolon Ballroom in Duluth. The formal event will begin at 6 p.m.
Featured student speakers on the program include Amanda Isaacs, Architectural Technology; Scott Rysdahl, IT Specialist; and Deanna Keller, Business and Administration.
The LSC Foundation manages 43 scholarships, many of which are dedicated to serving specific career and industry programs and donor-directed interests. A total of $62,550 in scholarships has been awarded to LSC students during the 2012-13 academic year, averaging approximately $1,000 per student.
Many of the donors who have funded scholarships will be in attendance, including LSC employees. LSC employees contribute approximately $25,000 annually to LSC scholarships.
“We believe it’s important to recognize our donors and our hard-working students for their commitment to higher education,” said LSC Foundation President Gary Tridgell. “In many cases, scholarships have made a huge difference for our students in continuing their studies.”
