Denfeld student selected
for National Honor Choir
Megan Rudd, Duluth Denfeld High School, participated in the 2013 American Choral Directors Association National Women’s Honor Choir. Rudd auditioned last fall for this honor and was selected from over 3,600 singers. Megan has also participated in UMD Honor Choir, UWS Honor Orchestra (cello), MN Honor Choir and All State Honor Camp. She dances with the School of the Minnesota Ballet and is president of Denfeld’s branches of both Key Club and National Honor Society.
Duluth East High School Daredevils robotics
team competes in Chicago this weekend
The Duluth East Daredevils Robotics team is competing in Chicago this weekend at the Midwest Regional, referred to as the Granddaddy Regional of the Midwest. The Regional begins today and will feature some of the best robots in FIRST robotics.

ISD 709 Draft Community Vision Online
Through Think Kids, nearly 2,000 people participated in a community conversation about education. The result is a draft community vision document for ISD 709, outlining the values, beliefs and vision expressed through Think Kids.
The direction and ideals expressed in this document will be used to create a detailed action plan for ISD 709. This plan will be specific and measurable, with attainable goals and objectives. Our schools will also develop detailed plans which in turn will be used by teachers and staff.
