Join us on the shores of the world’s greatest lake for Tall Ships® Duluth 2013. It’s a rare chance to catch a glimpse; step aboard, and even set sail on some of the grandest ships of yore, July 25-July 29, 2013. Purchase tickets online by going to www.visitduluth.com or calling 877-4FLY-TIX (435-9849).
In 2013, guests will have a chance to see a number of ships that have not visited Duluth previously, including the SS Sorlandet from Norway, Schooner Hindu from Key West and the Peacemaker, built in Brazil.“We’ve received a great response. Our Tall Ships were so popular in 2010 that fans can’t wait to come back,” said Terry Mattson, President/CEO of Visit Duluth.
More than 250,000 people attended the event three years ago making it northern Minnesota’s largest event ever. In 2010 the award-winning spectacle attracted visitors from 42 states and four Canadian Provinces.
What’s more, it generated a $15 million direct economic impact on the city.
Tall Ships® Duluth 2013 will showcase domestic and international ships, including some of the most acclaimed worldwide:
A Multi-Day On Board Ship Tour Pass is available for $17; $14 for youth 5-10 years old; and free to children 4 and under (except daysails). The pass also provides four-day access to the festival grounds and countless activities.
In addition to onboard tours, Tall Ships® Duluth 2013 will offer the opportunity for visitors to sail on Lake Superior aboard the Privateer Lynx, S/V Denis Sullivan and the Schooner Hindu. Each vessel will sail several times daily beginning Friday, July 26, providing not only an educational glimpse into daily life aboard a tall ship, but also the grandeur of experiencing Lake Superior under sail. Cost for each ticket is $95.
. A Parade of Sail which allows purchasers the opportunity to sail into Duluth under the Aerial Lift Bridge into the Duluth Harbor aboard a Tall Ship for $150.
. A Single-Day Dockside Viewing Festival Pass is available for $6; $5 for youth 5-10 years old; and free to children 1-4 years old. This pass provides one-day access to dockside ship views and the festival grounds.
