Grandma’s Sports Garden to host More Cowbell competition on Thursday

The 4th annual Celebrity More Cowbell competition to benefit the Northern Lights Foundation will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday at Grandma’s Sports Garden.

The event includes a silent auction, live music by the Lake City Smokin’ Section, complimentary food by Grandma’s Saloon, Bellisios, Little Angie’s, and the Sports Garden, and, of course, lots of cowbell.

We Need More Cowbell is a spoof from the SNL sketch featuring Will Ferrell and Christopher Walken. With the talent and direction of the Lake City Smokin’ Section, celebrity contestants will compete for the most votes from the judges and the audience.

This year’s contestants vying for the honor include: Sarah Seidelman, Stephanie Sinnott-Wehr, Tonya Sconiers, Bill Olson, Ken Hayes, Brad Boos, Dan Hanger and the Fox 21 News Team, Sandra McCarthy, Darren Franco and the Maurices Casual Buying Team.

Admission is $10. All proceeds will benefit the Northern Lights Foundation.

The mission of the nonprofit Northern Lights Foundation is to grant wishes and distribute funds that address the needs and wishes of Northland children — and their families — with life-threatening medical conditions.
